Back in 2023, actress Mona Singh shared a photograph with Shah Rukh Khan from his birthday party. Many fans wondered how Singh and Khan are friends following the photograph going viral. Now, in a new interview, Singh was asked about her photograph with Khan and how she became a friend of SRK.

Speaking about the same, Singh said that her association with SRK began when she first met him 20 years ago on the set of her popular TV show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. Singh said SRK came to the set of her show with both his kids, Suhana Khan and Aryan Khan, as they were her biggest fans and wanted to meet her.

Recalling SRK’s visit, Singh told Siddharth Kannan, “My bond with Shah Rukh started during Jassi time. Twenty years ago, when I was shooting in Film City and the sunset was happening, my director was yelling to shoot the scene quickly as we would lose the sunset. Suddenly, Shah Rukh Khan sir walked in with his kids, Suhana and Aryan. He was holding them both in his arms. He told me that both of his kids are my fans, and I froze. I couldn’t believe that was happening to me. He was just so honest and gracious, and he even told me that both Suhana and Aryan eat food while listening to the Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin title track.”

Singh added that she met Suhana and Aryan at the premiere of The Archies. She said, “They are beautiful kids. They have their own individual personalities. I find them very sweet and talented. I love them.”

For those who don’t remember, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin was the Indian adaptation of the American TV show Ugly Betty, which aired on Sony Entertainment Television from 2003 to 2006. It was also Mona Singh’s debut project, and one of the most loved shows of that era. She later transitioned to films, starring in movies like 3 Idiots and Laal Singh Chaddha. Singh was last seen in the horror comedy Munjya, and will appear in Aamir Khan’s Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos.
