When Dulquer Salmaan Felt ‘Insulted’ Being Compared To Shah Rukh Khan: ‘There Can Only Be One…’

Dulquer Salmaan had once opened up about comparisons with the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Dulquer Salmaan, a prominent pan-India actor, boasts a massive fan base nationwide. Beyond his impressive performances, his charming looks and humble demeanor distinguish him. Often compared to Bollywood’s King, Shah Rukh Khan, Dulquer humbly addressed this comparison in an old interview. He remarked that likening him to SRK feels like an insult to the legendary DDLJ star. The ‘Sita Ramam’ actor stressed that there can only be one Shah Rukh Khan, expressing his ongoing admiration and awe for the Bollywood icon.
In 2022, Dulquer Salmaan celebrated the success of his film ‘Sita Ramam’ alongside Mrunal Thakur. During a press meeting for the Hindi version of the movie, he candidly discussed his comparison to Shah Rukh Khan and his profound admiration for the ‘King of Bollywood.’
According to India Today, when asked about being likened to the ‘Jawan’ actor, Dulquer expressed, “I am a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan both on and off screen. He’s an immense role model for all of us with his strong personality, not just his acting. I’ve unconsciously adopted some of his traits in my interactions. Comparing me to him feels like an insult because there can only be one Shah Rukh.”
Dulquer had also lauded Shah Rukh Khan, highlighting SRK’s humility and the way he treats people around him. Dulquer noted that when the Dunki actor is in a room full of people, he ensures to pay equal attention to everyone. He also revealed that Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) is one of his favorite movies, having watched it multiple times in theaters.
On the professional front, Dulquer was last seen in a special cameo role in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD. His next project is Venky Atluri’s Telugu film Lucky Bhaskar, which also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary. Set in the late 80s, the film narrates the fascinating life of an ordinary bank cashier and is slated for a theatrical release on September 7.
Additionally, Dulquer will star in the Tamil film Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj.Lucky Bhaskar is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments, in collaboration with Srikara Studios and Fortune Four Cinemas.
Dulquer Salmaan is also set to appear in Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, announced on his 41st birthday. Furthermore, fans can anticipate his collaboration with director Sudha Kongara in the upcoming film Purananooru, starring Suriya.
