Meanwhile, rain shortened India’s chase and as per DLS method, the match was reduced to 8 overs and they had to chase down 78 runs.
India chased down the total without any fuss. They scored 81 runs in 6.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 30 runs off 15 balls, Suryakumar Yadav scored 26 off 12 balls and Hardik Pandya scored 22 runs off 9 balls. However, Samson who got the chance to play in the absence of Gill was dismissed for a golden duck.
