Wasim Jaffer picks his Playing XI for IND vs SL first T20I, no place for Sanju Samson
Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer left out wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson from his India playing XI for the first T20I against Sri Lanka in Pallekele on Saturday, July 27. Jaffer picked Rishabh Pant as the first choice gloveman.
Jaffer named Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill as his openers with Pant getting the No. 3 slot. Team India’s new skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube are in middle order, while Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh are the two finishers in the squad.
Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel are the genuine bowlers.
Meanwhile, Pant played all the matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Samson was kept on the bench. He played three matches in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
