The intriguing part is that Jaya Bachchan was so captivated by Karisma that she publicly announced her son’s engagement to her during a lavish event commemorating Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday.

A vintage video featuring Jaya Bachchan has resurfaced on Reddit, capturing the moment when she introduced Karisma Kapoor as the prospective daughter-in-law of the Bachchan family.

This video quickly gained widespread attention. The footage originates from a grand event organized to celebrate Big B’s 60th birthday, which was attended by media personnel and several prominent figures from the Bollywood industry.

In the video, Jaya said, “The Bachchan family, together with the Nanda family, extends a warm welcome to another family, the Kapoors. Randhir and Babita Kapoor, along with our future daughter-in-law, Karisma Kapoor. This is Abhishek’s gift to his parents on his father’s 60th birthday.”

Karisma Kapoor appeared stunning in an ivory-coloured salwar kameez in the video, her cheeks flushing as she posed alongside the Bachchan family on stage. Although this archived video in 2002 formally presented Karisma as the future daughter-in-law of the Bachchan family, their engagement was dissolved within a few months.

Unfortunately, the reasons for their separation were never disclosed. Several years later, Abhishek and Karisma entered into matrimony with their respective partners, and their past relationship has faded into obscurity.
