50 Cent reveals that he and Eminem are working on a TV show based on the highly regarded movie 8 Mile

50 Cent and Eminem are headed back to Detroit for their newest endeavor.

The 47-year-old In da Club rapper confirmed that he and his 50-year-old friend and mentor are developing a series based on the critically acclaimed film 8 Mile.

After rumors that the pair were ‘reportedly’ working on the series together surfaced online, the father-of-two took to Instagram to confirm the news on Friday.

‘Yeah and you thought i was PLAYING around, Im so serious man ! this is gonna be crazy. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,’ 50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson III), wrote in the caption of the post.

The picture he shared showed a screenshot of an article published by Billboard reporting the news.

Earlier in the day, the star spoke about developing the show in an interview with Big Boy TV.

He said a main reason he wanted to make the show was to make sure young kids new about Eminem’s roots and his impact.

‘I wanna bring, I’m gonna bring, 8 Mile to television,’ he said. ‘It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100. I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.’

He continued, ‘I think it should be there for his legacy, because if you don’t see… it’s important to me that they understand it, you know what I mean?’
