Chris Green powers Trent Rockets home at The Hundred Men’s 2024
After being asked to bat first, the Rockets put up a decent score of 185 for five on the board. Tom Banton was their top-scorer after he made 66 runs off 38 balls with nine fours and one six. Sam Hain also chipped in with a handy knock of 49 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes.
But it was Chris Green’s cameo of 25 off seven balls with one four and three sixes that injected momentum into the Rockets’ innings. Ben Dwarshuis and Matthew Potts picked up two wickets apiece.
After his cameo, Green also stepped up with the ball to win the Player of the Match award. He got the wickets of Oliver Robinson, Nicholas Pooran, and Adam Hose to finish with figures of 20-11-14-3.
Dwarshuis used the long handle to good effect to score 40 runs off 20 balls. However, his knock went in vain as the Superchargers finished their innings at 138 for eight. Skipper Lewis Gregory also put the brakes on the opposition’s batting after he picked up two wickets for 21 runs.
