On Monday, July 15, PeepingMoon reported that Abhishek Bachchan has been cast as the antagonist in ‘King’. While details about his villainous role are being kept under wraps, it is known that he will be portraying a complex character. Details about Shah Rukh and Suhana’s characters have also been kept under wraps.
According to sources, ‘King’ will feature some over-the-top action sequences directed by Siddharth Anand, who helmed the 2023 blockbuster ‘Pathaan’. Anirudh Ravichander has reportedly joined the film’s team to compose the theme music.
‘King’ is expected to begin filming later this year and might hit screens in 2025. Although Suhana has already made her Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film, ‘The Archies’, ‘King’ will mark her debut on the big screen. In May, Shah Rukh inadvertently sparked excitement among fans about ‘King’ when they noticed a script of the film on his side table in a video.
Apart from ‘King’, Abhishek also has Tarun Mansukhani’s ‘Housefull 5’ lined up, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Sanjay Dutt. It is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 6, 2025.
