In a long interview, Seema Khan had said it was not ‘other women’ but love for son Nirvaan that made her separate from Sohail Khan. She says even relationships have expiry dates.

While Sohail Khan and Seema Khan married within three months of dating, the union did not last forever. After 22 years of marriage, they officially separated in 2022. Prior to that, they had been living separately for many years. Seema Khan in a podcast with Shivani Pau revealed that it was not other women that led to her divorce. The couple officially separated when her elder son Nirvaan Khan was old enough and headed to University abroad. The lady who is a fashion designer admitted that a divorce is something that would have made her conservative family uncomfortable. Seema Khan said that when she was young she would feel insecure seeing her actor husband around beautiful women.

She told Shivani Pau, “”It’s no secret I was separated for quite a few years. We didn’t live together, but the world thought we were together. I guess it suited, why should I blame it on him, it suited the both of us.” Seema Khan was just 22 when she got hitched to him. She said that even relationships come with an expiry date. Seema Khan said that once you know that you have lost the love and romance in a relationship, you can move on. She said she did not believe in being dishonest. However, she said that one should communicate with caution, with the right words.

Seema Khan also said that she chose to separate for her son, and not because of other women. She said her son Nirvaan was going down a path that truly scared her. Seema said she knew she had to choose between saving her marriage, or being there for him. She said she chose her son. Seema said she has full clarity on her reasons irrespective of what people might think.

Seema Khan is the sister of Bunty Sachdeva who is a big talent manager. She also has her own fashion line.
