Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya did not join the rest of the Bachchan family for pictures at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in Mumbai on Friday, adding fuel to rumours of a rift between the actress and her husband Abhishek Bachchan.
The actress and her daughter were nowhere to be seen when Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan were joined by their son Abhishek, daughter Shweta, son-in-law Nikhil Nanda, and grandchildren Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda for a family portrait at the gala event.
A few moments later, however, Aishwarya arrived at the venue with Aaradhya. They posed together for photographers, staying well away from the rest of the family. The mother-daughter duo were also seen talking to Bollywood veteran Rekha with whom Amitabh was reportedly in a relationship during the heady 1980s.
In keeping with the theme of traditional wear at the wedding, Aishwarya decked up in a red-and-gold anarkali suit. The vibrant red lips of the actress, who wore her hair down, perfectly complemented the ensemble.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’ wedding ceremony was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. It was attended by Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput.
