During The Buckingham Murders launch event, Kareena Kapoor expressed her gratitude to Ektaa Kapoor and called her the backbone of the project.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated thriller, The Buckingham Murders, which also marks her debut as a producer. Recently, Kareena, along with Ektaa Kapoor and director Hansal Mehta, attended the trailer launch event for the film. During the event, Kareena Kapoor shared her deep-rooted passion for acting and expressed her gratitude to Ektaa Kapoor, whom she called the backbone of the project.

Kareena Kapoor Khan reflected on her two-decade-long journey in the Indian film industry, sharing that she has always dreamed of being on the big screen. “Acting is in my blood. I don’t know anything else,” she said. The actress also mentioned her love for being in front of the camera, stating that it’s her true passion and something she intends to continue doing for the rest of her life.

Kareena also took a moment to praise Ektaa Kapoor for having the belief and courage to always stand by her. She said, “She told me, ‘Okay, we are going to do this together.” Reflecting on their past collaborations, Kareena further shared that they have always been successful and expressed her confidence that this film will also reach great heights. “It is going to be fabulous. She has been my backbone,” Kareena added.

Speaking about The Buckingham Murders, Kareena described it as a special project for the entire team. She emphasised that in today’s world, language is less important than the story being told. “What matters is what you’re making. Watch what we have made. We’ve done this with our hearts,” Kareena concluded.

The Buckingham Murders follows the story of a grieving cop who moves to a new town after her child is murdered. There, she investigates the disappearance of another child. The film explores themes of trauma, grief, the immigrant experience, and the search for closure. It also features Keith Allen, Jonathan Nyati, Stuart Whelan, Chris Wilson, Prabhleen Sandhu, Assad Raja, Joel Morris, Ash Tandon, and more in significant roles. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 13.

Following Udta Punjab, Crew and Veere Di Wedding, The Buckingham Murders is Kareena Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor’s fourth project together and their first collaboration with Hansal Mehta.
