Kalki 2898 AD has become one of the biggest films of the year. Among others, Deepika Padukone is also getting immense appreciation for her portrayal of a pregnant woman in Nag Ashwin’s directorial. In a recent video posted by Vyjayanthi Movies, the Director of Photography (DOP) of the movie, Djordje Stojiljkovic also shared insights into his experience working on the project and highlighting Deepika Padukone’s exceptional contribution to the film.

Djordje, who has been instrumental in shaping the visual narrative of the film, expressed admiration for Padukone’s portrayal, describing her character as a standout in the ensemble cast. Speaking about his collaboration with the actress, Djordje remarked on Deepika’s dedication and professionalism on set. He emphasized how her performance adds depth and intensity to the film, elevating her character’s presence amidst the ensemble.

“Deepika… now I understand why they call her Queen,” Djordje said and then added, “She genuinely appreciated the shots I provided. Especially, the profile shots. We even joked about making an entire movie in profile someday. Her support and encouragement were priceless and it was really motivating me to achieve better results every time.”

Previously, director Nag Ashwin also lauded Deepika’s natural instinct for her character in ‘Kalki,’ stating, “She is the most important part of the story. We had a lot of discussions on it when we were writing as well. I think the simplest answer that we arrived at was whose character do you remove and the story does not exist? And that became Deepika’s character. Because if you remove her character, there is no story. There is no Kalki.”

Released on June 27, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The film gained an overwhelming response from the audience and has earned over Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office. Recently, Big B also took to his social handle and penned a gratitude note for the success of the film. “T 5062 – the essence of KALKI resounds within and without .. and my gracious gratitude,” he wrote. Fans are now eagerly waiting for the sequel of Kalki.
