Meanwhile, Kusal Perera was going all guns blazing. He was smashing the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground and was threatening to take the Sri Lankan innings to a dangerous total. Hardik Pandya provided the breakthrough for India by picking up the crucial wicket of Kusal Perera. Pandya bowled a short ball on the body and Perera played the pull shot with no timing.
