Indian all-rounder Axar Patel welcomed Gambhir and is excited to work under him in the Indian Cricket Team. He feels that there will definitely some big changes in the team under Gautam Gambhir. Patel is looking forward to the first meeting that he has with him in the national team and looks for more young blood in the team under Gautam Gambhir.
“I have played against him in the IPL and now he’s coming in as coach so obviously excitement is there. His journey hasn’t started but I’m looking forward to it. There are going to be a lot of changes in the set-up, his mindset will be different so excited to see our new goals, the change in atmosphere,” Axar Patel told Times Now.
“Player roles could also be changed, especially in T20, with the retirement of Virat, Jadeja, and Rohit. A younger team will be put in place and we will see how he operates. New coach, new staff – very excited to see the changes and looking forward to the first meeting with him where there will be a lot of clarity,” Axar Patel said.
