Gulshan Devaiah said that Deepika Padukone is an extremely professional actor on set and makes sure that the those around her feel comfortable. he also called her extremely hard-working.

Deepika Padukone and Gulshan Devaiah worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ramleela.

Gulshan Devaiah was still in his early days in the film industry when he worked with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. This was the film set where Deepika and Ranveer, who are soon going to welcome their first baby, fell in love. 

In a recent interview, Gulshan recalled his experience of working with the two stars an praised Deepika’s professional attitude on set.

In a chat on Filmygyan’s YouTube channel, Gulshan said that it was after working with Deepika that he reliased what a professional actor should be like.

Gulshan described Deepika as someone who makes the other actors comfortable, but knows where to draw a line so it remains professional.

“I think the first worked with anybody and I felt that this is a professional actor (was Deepika). She is very to the point. She is friendly but not over friendly. She will make you comfortable but not like you could be friends with her. There is a limit but there is an ease of work as well. She is extremely hardworking,” he said.

During the rapid fire, when he was asked about Deepika again, he said he is “biased” about her as they come from the same city. “I am very biased about Deepika Padukone. She is from Bengaluru, my city. I like her. You can’t say anything bad about her.”

Gulshan also spoke about Ranveer Singh and described him as “energy ka bhandaar (ball of energy)” who is “always charged.” In the past, Gulshan had discussed Ranveer’s energy in another interview and said that it sometimes becomes a little too much for his co-actors.

“Sometimes, I would walk in a corner after doing a take with him because he is so energetic. His energy is so much that sometimes it is not sustainable for someone to match that. You get affected by it. Sometimes you don’t want to deal with it. Sometimes you want peace,” he told Siddharth Kannan.

Gulshan, in another interview, also spoke about witnessing the love story of Deepika and Ranveer. He shared with Bollywood Hungama, “We didn’t notice anything during the first schedule. But my second schedule was in Udaipur, and suddenly, I saw her sitting in his lap. I was like, when did this happen?” He added, “I think Ranveer was smitten by her right from the beginning. This I don’t know for sure, but from what I remember, he was very smitten by her right from the beginning. I think jee-jaan laga ke pursue kiya hoga (he must have pursued her really hard).”
