Bachana Ae Haseeno is one of Ranbir Kapoor’s most loved romantic movies. It was Kapoor’s second movie, featuring Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Minissha Lamba. The Siddharth Anand directorial also did well at the box office. But did you know that Katrina Kaif was also supposed to be a part of the film?

Yes, Katrina Kaif was offered Yash Raj Film’s 2008 superhit film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. In the movie, Ranbir plays a playboy named Raj, who lies to women about being in love until he really falls in love with someone. Raj realises his mistakes and tries to redeem them. In an interview, the Tiger 3 actress revealed that she would be the fourth girl in the 2008 romantic comedy.

Katrina Kaif told Mid-Day, “Initially, there were four girls in the film. I was the fourth girl. That character got cut out of the film, at the script level. The film was becoming too long, Adi (Aditya) Chopra called me to the office, this was the first Yash Raj film I was cast in, which was a big thing for me and I was vying for a Yash Raj film for some time. He calls me after being cast in film and he says, listen, the film is too long and we are going to have to cut this character. And I was like, huh! You must be joking me!”

The actress added that she would have a limited role in the Ranbir-Deepika starrer. However, Kabir Khan offered New York after she couldn’t be a part of it. Kat shared, “I was like, he takes away my big commercial film with Bachna Ae Haseeno, and he has given me this art film. I was not very happy about it.” Well, today, New York is considered one of Katrina’s best films. The 2009 movie also stars John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif was last seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas. The romantic thriller also stars Vijay Sethupathi and received tremendous response from critics and audiences alike.
