Pushpa 2: Telugu media throws light on how lack of a ‘bound script’ led to chaos and over-budgeting of the movie

Pushpa 2 one of 2024’s most awaited movie is in the news for all wrong reasons. Rumours of a feud between maker Sukumar and Allu Arjun has gained momentum in the past few days. Stories of how Allu Arjun flew off to Singapore leaving the shoot only to return when Sukumar was away in the US did the rounds on social media. The movie is supposed to come on December 6, 2024 and everyone is wondering what is happening. Pushpa, which released in 2021 was one of the biggest post-pandemic successes. When the makers announced Pushpa 2: The Rule, a lot of freedom was given to filmmaker Sukumar and Allu Arjun. The two have also hiked their fees, and signed on contract that they take a part of the profits.

Filmmaker Sukumar is known to extend their schedule with script changes and so on. As per a Telugu portal, this is the issue plaguing Pushpa 2: The Rule. They have made sets where no shoot is happening. Actors are taking home salaries despite sitting idle the whole day. Rao Ramesh and Sunil took fat paycheques for Pushpa 2 and even gave bulk dates. But they’re not shooting right now.

It is reported that Sukumar made changes, which is why even Allu Arjun did not shoot anything for two weeks. The makers are footing rents for two massive sets in the Ramoji Film City for close to two years. No shoot is happened there since days. They cannot even vacate the space as Sukumar might ask for some reshoots. Moreover, the film has employed a huge number of junior artistes. This is proving to be a financial burden on the makers.

As per Telugu 360, music composer Devi Sri Prasad has doubled his fee from that of Pushpa: The Rise. Rashmika Mandanna too charged a whopping fee as she had to allocate bulk dates. Now, the schedule has extended by almost double of allotted working days. Producers can recover the amount before release from satellite, digital and music rights but this expense was preventable.

Sources have said that Sukumar’s poor planning about the script led to this confusion. Pushpa 3 is also being planned by the makers. That movie will come out in 2026.
