Before Shah Rukh Khan, Yash Chopra wanted Aamir Khan to play Rahul in Darr. Read to know why the actor was removed from the film.
Shah Rukh Khan’s association with Yash Raj Films started with the 1993 film Darr. In the Yash Chopra directorial, SRK played the villain Rahul, an obsessive and one-sided lover who would go to any extent to get Kiran (Juhi Chawla). The film also starred Sunny Deol in the lead role. Darr was offered to Shah Rukh when many top stars were refusing to play the bad guy. For Khan, what mattered was acting, and he was ready to play any good role that came his way. However, did you know that the character was also offered to Aamir Khan?
Yash Chopra initially thought Aamir Khan was an apt actor to play Rahul in Darr. The late filmmaker even offered the role to the Ishq star. However, Aamir was later excluded from the film. In an interview, the Dangal star revealed why he wasn’t cast in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer.
Further, Aamir Khan also shared how, during Andaz Apna Apna with Salman Khan, Salman and him received a joint narration. It helps both actors to be satisfied with their roles and prevents any issues in the future. Aamir likes to work this way, and with Darr, it wasn’t possible as Yash Chopra didn’t give a joint narration. Hence, he was removed from the project.
