Priyanka Chopra was depressed because of a failed nose surgery

Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra revealed that her botched nose job in the past left her devastated and removed from three films.

“It was a dark period,” Priyanka Chopra recalled the time of her nose surgery in an interview with the Howard Stern Show on May 2.

Priyanka said a doctor had ordered surgery to remove polyps from her nasal cavity. The botched surgery left the Indian beauty’s nose disfigured. She recalled: “My face looked completely different and I fell into a deep depression.”

Not only was she depressed and disappointed with her new look, Priyanka Chopra was also cut from her three-film contract because of this incident. The Indian star feared that her career in the entertainment industry was “over before it even began”. Priyanka did not even want to leave the house during that terrible period. Later, she decided to undergo a corrective surgery to fix the mistakes made by previous surgeons.

Priyanka said her father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, encouraged her to have the courage to undergo surgery again. “I was so scared, but my dad said, ‘I’ll be in the room with you,'” the actress said. “He helped me get through it and regain my confidence.”

After a successful retouch, Priyanka landed a small role in a Bollywood film directed by Anil Sharma. She credits Anil for giving her the chance to revive her career. “The filmmaker was very kind. When everyone turned their backs on me, he gave me this role. He said, ‘It’s a small role but give it your all’. And I did.”

Priyanka Chopra was born in 1982, won the Miss India crown in 2000 and was crowned Miss World in the same year. The beauty queen title opened the door for her to enter showbiz. However, Priyanka revealed that when she first entered Bollywood, she faced many difficulties because her beauty, figure, and dark skin were not up to standard at that time.

In her 2021 memoir, Priyanka Chopra opened up about a casting where a director commented on her body flaws and advised her to get plastic surgery to look hotter and more beautiful. “After a few minutes of talking, the director and producer told me to stand up and turn around so he could see me. I did. He stared at me for a long time, assessing my body, and then suggested that I get a boob job, a jawline job, and a butt lift,” Priyanka said.

The director also introduced Priyanka to a good plastic surgeon in Los Angeles. Her assistant also agreed with what the director said. Priyanka felt stunned and after some time thinking, she gave up the role without giving any reason.

In 2015, she was invited to play the main role in the American TV series Quantico . After the three-year hit film, Priyanka participated in many other big projects such as Baywatch , The Matrix Resurrections and recently she is the star of the action series Citadel.

In 2018, she married American singer Nick Jonas, who is 10 years younger. Priyanka now resides in the US with her husband and continues to act in both countries.
