In today’s world, TV actors are often looked down upon when compared to actors from the film industry. From fashion designers refusing to give them clothes to being treated differently, there’s a huge divide that still exists. While some, like Sushant Singh Rajput, have successfully transitioned from TV to films, many others still struggle to make the leap. Shah Rukh Khan was the first to achieve immense success, starting his career in the 1980s with television shows before becoming a sensation in the film industry.

While we all know about Shah Rukh Khan’s popular TV shows like Circus and Fauji, did you know he also starred in a show called Dil Dariya?

Dil Dariya in fact marked his debut in the world of television. The show was helmed by Lekh Tandon, who put his trust in Khan after seeing him for the first time. The show which ran between 1988 to 1989 was set in Punjab. The plot revolves around two best friends who are also neighbours hailing from two different religious communities Hindu and Sikh. However, their relationship turns sour due to the tense situation in Punjab. The show also starred Virendra Saxena, Alka Amin, Arun Bali and Vineeta Malik among others.

Another video from the show went viral on social media some time ago, when fans compared Shah Rukh Khan’s character to Sachiv Ji (played by Jitendra Kumar) in Panchayat.

After watching these videos, fans are only praising the superstar for his hard work. “This other guy is such a talented actor… Srk seems a noob here and it shows his hard work how he started here and now is the king of the Hindi movie industry,” one of them wrote. “I feel he acted better in television. Loved him simple roles like KHKN, Chamatkar, Raju ban gaya gentleman. Kundan Shah directed him better as a boy next door types,” said another one.

Some others thought he looked just like his elder son Aryan Khan. “When did aryan khan started acting?” asked one user. “Aryan is a spitting image of young Shah Rukh,” said another one. “Shah Rukh looks like Aaryan khan Aaryan khan looks like shahrukh khan,” a third user said.
