Recalling the past, Hansal Mehta mentioned that he would often walk past Kareena Kapoor Khan on her way to Christmas parties.
Following her impressive performance in Jaane Jaan and Crew, Kareena Kapoor Khan is now set to leave a lasting impact on the audience with The Buckingham Murders. The upcoming crime thriller is scheduled to be released on September 13. Days before the premiere, the makers unveiled the trailer of the film on Tuesday in Mumbai. At the event, Kareena, Ektaa Kapoor, director Hansal Mehta and the cast and crew were in attendance. The trailer launch event saw Mehta indulging in some light-hearted moments with the lead actress of his film.
Joking about how Kareena Kapoor Khan would ignore him when he used to reside in the same building as her, Hansal Mehta remarked that only Ektaa Kapoor could have made it possible for him to cast the actress. “Without her, I wouldn’t have even met Kareena,” he said. Recalling the past, the director mentioned that Kareena would often walk past him on her way to Christmas parties. He would be standing there, wondering, “Kareena Kapoor just took the lift!”
However, Hansal Mehta believes that Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the best actresses the industry has today. Heaping praises on her, the director continued to add that the actress is an absolute powerhouse. He asserted, “Stardom can fluctuate, but your talent will never die.”
Even Kareena Kapoor Khan couldn’t stop showering praises on Hansal Mehta. Calling the ace filmmaker ‘the captain of the ship’, she said, “This film wouldn’t have been what it is without the man himself, the captain of the ship, Hansal Mehta. The way he has shot it, the way he has made me also kind of be the character, made me so comfortable… We loved this story idea; we loved the script… There is no one better than Hansal, to make this film that has such good content. He has stuck to the authenticity of the film.”
The Buckingham Murders is worth the hype as it also marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s production debut. Besides her, the much-anticipated crime thriller also features Ranveer Brar, Ash Tandon, Keith Allen and others. The film, during its international premiere, at the 67th BFI London Film Festival last year, received a positive response. Earlier, the makers also released the first song from the film, Sada Pyaar Tut Gaya. The story of the film has been written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker.
