Kalki 2898 AD brought back Prabhas to the league of the most bankable stars of India. The sci-fi epic arrived in theatres globally on June 27 and has been unstoppable at the box office. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has now achieved a new milestone. The star-studded film has entered the mammoth 1000-crore club.

According to Sacnilk Entertainment’s latest report, Kalki 2898 AD has become the 7th Indian film to join the 1000-crore club worldwide. Back in 2017, Prabhas’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion attained this special milestone. The Nag Ashwin directorial is said to be the fifth film to achieve this post the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, before the pandemic, Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Bahubali 2 minted over Rs. 1000 crores globally.
Kalki 2898 AD joins RRR, Jawan in 1000-crore club
After a dull phase at the box office from 2020 to 2022, SS Rajamouli’s RRR brought a relief by collecting over Rs. 1000 crores worldwide. Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback ventures, Pathaan and Jawan, were declared blockbusters. The action thrillers walked comfortably into the 1000-crore club along with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2.

Kalki 2898 AD Plot
Kalki 2898 AD is set in a post apocalyptic world and follows the story of Ashwatthama, who has to protect SUM-80’s unborn child. It is the first part of the Kalki Cinematic Universe. The film is heavily inspired by Hindu scriptures.

Kalki 2898 AD stars Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama, Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Deepika Padukone as SUM-80, Prabhas as Bhairava and Disha Patani as Roxie. Keerthy Suresh is the voice behind Bhairava’s unique vehicle, Bujji. Apart from them, the film has guests appearances by Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda and SS Rajamouli. It is said to be the most expensive Indian film.
