Kiran Rao reveals divorce from Aamir Khan has made her 'very happy': 'I haven't felt lonely at all'

Kiran Rao has frequently addressed her relationship with ex-husband Aamir Khan. Despite their separation three years ago, they remain close friends and co-parent their son. They recently collaborated on directing and producing ‘Laapataa Ladies’, which was well-received.


In a recent Faye D’Souza Show interview, Kiran discussed their divorce. She also shared how relationships often need to be redefined as people evolve.She said that their divorce was a decision made for her happiness and expressed that it has indeed brought her great joy, describing it as a “happy divorce.”

Kiran shared that she enjoyed her independence before her relationship with Aamir Khan and had experienced loneliness at times. However, she no longer feels lonely, thanks to her son Azad and the support from both families. She described the divorce as positive and fulfilling, emphasizing the support she has received.

The filmmaker mentioned that there is no animosity between her and the Bollywood star. She highlighted their enduring love, respect, and shared history, including laughter and common values. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao tied the knot in 2005 and announced their separation in 2021.
