Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav stunned Sri Lanka by defending nine runs off 12 balls in the third T20I played last night in Pallekele. The two specialist batters bowled quality spin in the final two overs and conceded just eight runs to help India tie the match.

India won the game via Super Over to secure a 3-0 series win against Sri Lanka. After the match ended, Rinku Singh shared a couple of pictures from the match on his Instagram profile and gave a new name to his death bowling partnership with Suryakumar Yadav.

The first photo was of Rinku celebrating the fall of a wicket in his over, followed by a picture of him hugging Suryakumar. Captioning the images, Rinku wrote on Instagram:

“Khatron ke khiladi ft. bowling in the death @surya_kumar14.”

In just a few minutes, the post from Rinku has crossed 50,000 likes on Instagram. Kuldeep Yadav dropped a heart-eye emoji in the comments box, praising his teammates for their fantastic bowling performance.

How Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav helped India pull off a memorable win against Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka were 129/4 after 18 overs in a chase of 138. With Kusal Perera batting on 46, it looked like the islanders would easily win the match. However, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav handed the ball to Rinku Singh, who had never bowled a delivery in T20Is before.

Surprisingly, Rinku ended up dismissing Perera and Ramesh Mendis while giving away only three runs in his six balls. With six left to defend in the final over, captain Yadav decided to bowl the final over himself instead of assigning the task to specialist fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who had figures of 0/11 in three overs.

The decision proved to be a masterstroke as Yadav took two wickets and conceded five runs to take the match into a Super Over. India won the Super Over quite comfortably to seal the series 3-0.
