Amitabh Bachchan REACTS to Prabhas' crowd-pleasing scenes in 'Kalki 2898 AD: It was the introduction of not just the film's hero, but the hero of the Telugu-speaking nation

The mega star Amitabh Bachchan is currently enjoying the succes of Nag Ashwin’s dystopian sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Meanwhile, The film, where he portrays the immortal Ashwatthama, is also reportedly facing criticism for its length, especially for Prabhas’ crowd-pleasing introductory sequence in the first half.

Recently, the makers dropped a video from the conversation, episode 2 of ‘The Kalki Chronicles’, between Amitabh and Nag Ashwin.
In the episode, Amitabh is seen defending Prabhas’ introductory scenes.

In the video, Amitabh is heard saying, “There are many portions that, as someone in the film industry, I can understand are aimed at pleasing the audience. This is Prabhas, a Telugu film star who is considered massive, almost God-like, by his fans. Many in the audience felt that the first half dragged on and wanted to get on with the story.”

“However, it’s important to recognize that this was the introduction of not just the film’s hero, but the hero of the Telugu-speaking nation. This aspect was overlooked by some. Nonetheless, we must acknowledge it,” said Amitabh, who described Kalki 2898 AD as a ‘perfect amalgamation’ of catering to the audience and advancing the story.

Recently, the ‘Pink’ actor took to X and reposted a bunch of tweets by fans claiming that Kalki 2898 AD crossed Rs 1000 crore worldwide and in the process, beat Siddharth Anand’s spy thriller Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh in the titular role. Sharing the post, Amitabh wrote, “Quite amazing.”
