Kalki 2898 AD box office collection Day 22: Prabhas’ film to cross Rs 600 cr today.

Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 22: The Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD was released in theatres on June 27, and in the three weeks since, has managed to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. On its 22nd day of release, Kalki 2898 AD brought in Rs 2.27 crore, taking its nett domestic total to Rs 599.2 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. While the film made approximately Rs 7.2 crore on Wednesday, it witnessed a sharp decline in ticket sales on Thursday.

Ever since Kalki 2898 AD’s debut in theatres, the film has not been challenged by any other big release in any region of the country. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film was released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira and and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 could not make a mark, which helped Kalki 2898 AD in maintaining its position at the box office.

Now, as Kalki 2898 AD nears the end of its theatrical run, the film will witness some major competition from the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Bad Newz. There are no significant releases in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam industries this week that could potentially dethrone Kalki 2898 AD. As per Ormax Media’s half-yearly report, Kalki 2898 AD has grossed Rs 772 crore in India, which makes up for 15 percent of the total box office revenue in India this year.

Kalki 2898 AD is the biggest film of 2024 but it is yet to break the record of 2023’s biggest hit, Jawan. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer collected Rs 640.25 crore during its theatrical run in India. Kalki 2898 AD still has to make at least Rs 40 crore or more in the next few weeks to break that record. The movie has already overtaken the likes of Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Animal, and trails only Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR.
