Anil Kapoor joins forces with Alia Bhatt for Alpha and may share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan 2.

Bollywood’s most loved and veteran actor Anil Kapoor has reportedly signed the dotted line for YRF’s Spy Universe films. Buzz is that, he signed a multi film deal, in the Aditya Chopra curated films. With this, the actor will now be joining Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan’s world.

Sources close to the development revealed to Pinkvilla that, Anil Kapoor has signed on for the YRF Spy Universe to play the head of R&AW (Research and Operations Wing). “Anil Kapoor is bowled over by the vision of Aditya Chopra for the Spy Universe and took no time to sign the dotted lines for the part. He begins his affiliation with an appearance in War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr, and Kiara Advani in lead. This will be followed by the Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer Alpha and finally lead to the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone film, Pathaan 2.”

The source further added, “There are many other films in the development at the writing wing of YRF under the IP of Spy Universe, which includes the most awaited face-off of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in Tiger vs Pathaan. Anil Kapoor will be the constant in all spy films.”

Earlier last week, Alia took to her Instagram handle and dropped a video in which she announced that the shooting for the much-awaited movie has finally begun.

The clip showed ‘Alpha’ written on it as Alia’s voiceover said, “Greek alphabet ka sabse pehle akshar aur hamare program ka motto. Sabse pehle, sabse tez, sabse veer. Dhyaan se dekho toh har shahar mein ek jungle hai aur har jungle mein raaj karega ek Alpha (The first alphabet of the Greek language and our motto – first, fastest and courageous. YRF’s upcoming theatrical releases include War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, slated for August 15, 2025. Next in line is Shiv Rawail’s Alpha, a female-led saga marking a new chapter in the universe. While details on Pathaan 2’s timeline remain under wraps, the film is currently in the writing stage and is expected to commence production later in 2025.
