Sunny Deol has time and again talked about how he had a bad experience working with Yash Chopra on Darr and how he had ripped his jeans with bare hands during the shoot with Shah Rukh Khan out of anger.

Now, in a new interview, action director Tinu Verma who was present during the shoot of the film has revealed the details about the much-talked about fight during Darr shoot.

Recalling the incident, Tinu Verma said on the YouTube channel Inconversation with Ishan that they were filming the pre-climax portion where SRK’s Rahul gets caught as Kiran’s stalker by Sunny’s Sunil.

Tinu reveals that Sunny wasn’t happy with the scene and ”said he can’t attack me from the front because I am a naval officer. Sunny was right in his logic.”

But, “Shah Rukh said I am not Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Gulshan Grover that I will attack on the back.”

The action director further revealed that both Yash Chopra, the director and Aditya Chopra, the associate director were present on the set and soon “the situation got quite tensed”.

He added, “Sunny got so angry eventually that he had his hands in his pocket, and he pushed is hands so hard that his pants tore. Everybody was shocked. Shah Rukh was also there. And then pack-up was announced.”

Tinu then came up with a way where SRK stabs Sunny in the gut instead of his back while the latter wasn’t looking, satisfying both the actors.

Further talking about SRK, Tinu said that even though he wasn’t a big star then “he was stubborn. He told Yash ji that I won’t stab him in the back. It’s because of that confident attitude that Shah Rukh is Baadshah.”

While Darr became a blockbuster, Sunny vowed never to work with Yash Chopra again. In fact, he didn’t speak to SRK for 16 years but in an interview on Aap Ki Adalat, he said it wasn’t deliberate, “It’s not that I didn’t talk but I just cut myself off and I anyway don’t socialise much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat he nahi hai”.
