Ranbir Kapoor Reveals He Quit Smoking For Daughter Raha: ‘I Never Feared Death But…’

Ranbir Kapoor revealed making a healthier life choice by quitting smoking after the arrival of his daughter Raha.

Ranbir Kapoor has often spoken about his unique bond with his daughter, Raha. In a recent interaction, the Barfi actor reminisced about the first time he held Raha after her birth, describing it as the most precious moment of his life. He also discussed how Raha has transformed him as a person and made him more health-conscious.

In a conversation with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir shared his thoughts on fatherhood, saying, “Now that I am a father and have a daughter, that’s a game-changer. That is making me question detachment and indifference because I feel like I was just born. I was reborn. I feel the 40 years of my life that I have lived was another life. I am feeling new emotions, new thoughts.”

Ranbir also revealed how his perspective on life and death has changed since Raha’s birth. “I never feared death. I always thought that I would die at the age of 71 because I had this obsession with the number 8. I don’t know why I said that. But now I am like that’s too soon. That’s another 30 years. So, all that has changed because of Raha,” he explained.

The Animal actor, Ranbir Kapoor, shared how the birth of his daughter, Raha, has significantly impacted his life, including his decision to quit smoking. “I started smoking cigarettes, which became a very nasty habit from the age of 17 till last year when I finally quit. When I became a father, I started feeling very unhealthy,” he said.

Ranbir revealed that Raha’s birth motivated him to make healthier choices. The realization of his new responsibilities as a father prompted him to give up smoking, a habit he had maintained for many years, to ensure he remains healthy for his daughter.

When asked about the top moment of his life, Ranbir did not hesitate to describe Raha’s birth. “The top moment of my life was my daughter’s birth. Until she was born and Alia was pregnant, you imagine it, but you don’t feel it. She is feeling it because the baby is in her. But when she was born and the doctor gave her to me, it’s a feeling you can’t describe. It’s like somebody has taken my heart and put it in my hands. It’s the love of your life, it’s too good. It’s too good. I’ve never felt like that about anybody or anything in life,” he shared.

Ranbir also spoke about Raha’s relationship with him and Alia. He explained, “I think Raha considers Alia as a part of her. She doesn’t see Alia as another human. They both are one. With me, she looks for the masti and fun and the laughter and flirting. We are flirting all the time.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s most beloved couples, tied the knot on April 14, 2022, after several years of dating. Their love story reached a new milestone later that year with the arrival of their daughter, Raha Kapoor.
