The singer embodied her godmother Dolly Parton’s famous phrase when she strolled onto the red carpet on Sunday wearing a gold metal mesh dress, with safety pin accents, that left little to the imagination, along with matching metal panties and Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela gold heels.
But it wasn’t what Miley wore or didn’t wear that garnered most of the attention. Her hair that was teased for the gods divided the internet, with many wondering if the look was a hit or a “mess” — err, miss.
“What’s going on with Miley Cyrus’ hair?” one person asked, while another quipped that the “Flowers” singer was “single-handedly” trying to “bring back big 80s hair.”
“I’m sorry but Miley Cyrus looks a mess,” someone else opined, while another a fourth joked, “Miley Cyrus got electrocuted apparently.”
If the saying “The higher the hair, the closer to God” is true, Miley Cyrus may have just earned her wings on the red carpet at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.FilmMagic
Yet another person mockingly said, “SHE GOT THE DOLLY MEETS ELVIS HAIR.”
But not all fans were against Cyrus’s style. Some admired the “Wrecking Ball” songstress’ sense of style.

“Miley’s custom Margiela moment is so good and the hair definitely feels like a callback to Dolly Parton,” read a tweet.

“This last year l featured Miley’s wet look for hair,” he said in a press release of the look. “For the Grammys, we decided we wanted something dry and bigger, more fuller hair, but sexy and tousled and touchable.”
Cyrus is nominated for six Grammy Awards at the 2024 ceremony, including Album of the Year for “Endless Summer Vacation” and Song and Record of the Year for “Flowers.”

Back in November when the nominations were announced, Cyrus posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), thanking fans for their support. She also shouted out all the women dominating the category.
“Congratulations to all of this year’s Grammy nominees. Watching women rule the music industry makes me proud,” she wrote.
“It’s fun to be nominated & exciting to win but having my music LOVED around the world is the real trophy.
“To my Smilers — I celebrate YOU today. Your joy is my bliss,” she added. “My team + all of my collaborators are irreplaceable & priceless pieces of this puzzle.
I love you all. Thank you for making my Endless Summer Vacation so sweet.”
